About Alpha Ski Tomamu

Steve & Rika Dew are a small Australian-Japanese family that fell hard for Tomamu more than 25 years ago. They have been quietly running three of its best-located ski-in/ski-out apartments out of pure love for the mountain.

Our story

Steve has been skiing Hoshino Resorts Tomamu every season since 1999. Together with his Japanese wife Rika, he founded Alpha Ski Tomamu in 2023 to share the resort with other families and powder-chasers — directly, with no booking-platform commission, and with the kind of personal hand-over and local knowledge that only owner-operators can provide.

What makes us different

Every booking goes straight to us, not a property manager. We answer your questions personally before you arrive, send a detailed English check-in guide with photos, and are reachable throughout your stay. Our three apartments — a powder studio, a family loft and a 2-bedroom duplex — are all in The Tower buildings beside the mountain centre, so you can walk out the door in your ski boots and be on the snow within a couple of minutes.

We are based on the Gold Coast in Australia and return to Tomamu each winter to ski the mountain ourselves and host guests in person.
